Centerville Circularity Center

About the project

The Centerville Circularity Center in Centerville, Iowa, includes one new anaerobic digester on the Black Soil Dairy Farm. The biogas generated by this manure is captured, cleaned, and converted into renewable natural gas, which can be used as transportation fuel, industrial heating, and a host of other applications. Centerville is part of the third tranche of projects developed under the Brightmark RNG Holdings LLC joint venture with Chevron U.S.A. Inc.

Project benefits

GHG REDUCTIONS

This project reduces emissions by an average of over 21,000 tons of CO2eq annually. That is equivalent to planting more than 25,000 acres of forest per year.

RESOURCE RECOVERY

Recovering and processing manure from the farms prevents excess emissions from escaping into the local air and water.

WASTE TO NEW PRODUCTS

The center generates renewable natural gas each year.
