Paullina Circularity Center

About the project

The Paullina Circularity Center in Paullina, Iowa, will include a single sizable Continuously-Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) digester built on-site at the Roorda Dairy Farm in O’Brien County. The manure from this farm will produce renewable natural gas a year. After the center is complete, the biogas generated by this manure will be captured, cleaned, and converted into RNG, which can be used as transportation fuel, industrial heating, and a host of other applications. Roorda is part of the third tranche of projects developed under the Brightmark RNG Holdings LLC joint venture with Chevron U.S.A. Inc.

RESOURCE RECOVERY

The process of recovering and processing manure from the farms will prevent excess emissions from escaping into the local air and water.

WASTE TO NEW PRODUCTS

The facility will generate renewable natural gas each year and support the production of fertilizer and reclaimed irrigation water.

“As our dairy expands, it’s increasingly vital that we responsibly manage our waste streams while retaining their maximum value. Our anaerobic digestion projects with Chevron and Brightmark do both.”

– Lance Roorda, Owner, Roorda Dairy
