Deploying circular solutions and diverting waste with Downtown Fort Wayne

Lunch on the Square

We recycle the plastic waste discarded at Downtown Fort Wayne’s summer series Lunch on the Square (LOTS). The plastic waste collected during these events is transported to our Ashley Circularity Center, where it will be converted into new, circular products.

DORA

Brightmark recycles plastic cups from DTFW’s Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) program. The cups will be transported to our circularity center in Ashley, Indiana, where they will be recycled into new, circular products.

Holly Shopping

Many plastic bags are used and discarded during the holidays, ending up in landfills or the environment where they sit for years. Brightmark works with DTFW to encourage residents to bring their plastic bags to a designated Brightmark Bin®—where they will be collected and processed for proper recycling.

Making a bright(er) impact with DTFW

The pilot is the first of its kind for the event, created to foster public awareness and education around the large-scale issue of plastic pollution. Brightmark’s presence will showcase the importance of this unique recycling solution to divert and repurpose even the most difficult type of plastics to create new, high-quality materials with a lower carbon footprint.
