Climate change is a crucial challenge that many are diligently working to combat. I’m continually inspired by the men and women (at Brightmark and elsewhere) that I see paving a path toward a brighter future.
I am particularly excited to see so many women at the forefront of the battle against climate change. From grassroots activists to political leaders, women are making bright strides in the environmental movement. While there’s an endless number I find inspiring, I’d like to highlight a select few.
Greta Thunberg inspires me and gives me hope for younger generations—motivating millions worldwide to take action. Jane Goodall, the renowned primatologist and conservationist, is another remarkable example that inspires me to be kind to all forms of life, motivating countless people to take action to protect endangered species and their ecosystems. Former Patagonia CEO Rose Marcario inspires me because of her work implementing environmental sustainability as a core value of the outdoor apparel company. Under her leadership, Patagonia has taken strong stances on climate change and public lands protection.
I’d also like to highlight all the incredible women at Brightmark for their unrelenting commitment to Reimagine Waste and helping us create a world without waste. Their work inspires me and is a guiding light for why it’s vital to protect the planet for future generations.
Remember, regardless of who you are, we can all contribute to creating a world without waste by making—big and small—changes in our habits and practices. Together, we can create a brighter future for all.
To women everywhere, I’d like to say thank you. Thank you for inspiring me. Thank you for fighting for what’s right. Thank you for taking on challenges and finding solutions. Women don’t just make history during Women’s History Month—women make history every month.
